Charter Bank is pleased to offer the opportunity for students continuing their education to be awarded a scholarship.
 

Scholarships Awarded Annually

High School Graduates

  • Twelve scholarships are awarded for those students attending a college or university at $1,000 per year.
  • One Michael J. Webb Scholarship will be awarded to a student attending a college or university at $1,000 per year who, in addition to meeting academic, communication skills, and community involvement considerations, also shows an emphasis in sports programs.
  • Three scholarships are awarded for those students attending a technical college at $500 per year.

Post-High School Applicants

  • Two scholarships are awarded for those students attending a college or university at $1,000 per year.
  • Two scholarships are awarded for those students attending a technical college at $500 per year.

Renewals

  • Three, one-year renewals per college or university recipient.
  • One renewal per technical college recipient.

College or university scholarships are renewable for three years, providing a total of four scholarships per student.

Application Process

New applicants

  • Complete and sign the application form.
  • Please remember to follow the directions completely as applications will not be considered if information is missing or incomplete.
  • Applications and other necessary documents must be postmarked no later than March 15th.

Renewals

  • Recipients must request, complete and sign a renewal application.
  • The application and copy of most recent transcripts must be postmarked no later than March 15th and sent to the Scholarship Committee.

Eligibility Requirements

High School Seniors

  • Applicant must be a high school graduating senior who is a client, or whose parent(s) or guardian(s) is/are a client* of Charter Bank Eau Claire.
  • Applicant plans to attend an accredited college, university or technical college located in the United States.
  • Applicant is participating in a full-time undergraduate or associate degree program.
    Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Post-High School Applicants

  • Applicant must be a Charter Bank Eau Claire client*.
  • Applicant plans to attend an accredited college, university or technical college located in the United States.
  • Applicant is participating in a full-time undergraduate or associate degree program.
  • Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Renewals

  • Applicant must be a full time student in good standing and demonstrate typical progress toward the degree being sought, within the normal time limit of applicant’s chosen school.

*Charter Bank Eau Claire “clients” are defined as an individual who maintains a personal account (i.e. Savings, Checking, IRA, College Fund, CD) for a minimum of two years prior to the date of application (March 15th). Charter Bank employees and their children are not eligible for this program.

Selection Procedure

Recipients will be selected by the Charter Bank Women’s Financial Council. Scholarships will be awarded based on information contained in the application.

Consideration will be given to the following:

  • Education and career goals
  • Academic performance
  • School and/or community involvement
  • Written communication skills
  • Character references

All applicants will be notified of selection results via mail by May 1st. Recipients will be announced in local media, Charter Bank’s newsletter, and at their high school award ceremony if applicable.

Disbursement/Conditions

  • Each scholarship will be awarded for one academic year. Please follow the renewal process for guidelines following the first year.
  • Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the college, university, or technical college to be credited to the recipient’s account by mid September.
  • If an interruption in studies occurs, all scholarship disbursements shall cease. Upon resumption of attendance at a university/college as a full time student, the recipient may petition the Scholarship Committee for reinstatement of the scholarship.
  • Any unused scholarship funds shall be returned to Charter Bank. Each institutional refund policy shall govern the amount returned to the scholarship fund.
  • All information submitted with the scholarship application will become the property of Charter Bank and will be maintained in confidence.
